The 7-year end-time period
Hosea 6:1-3 ... after two days he will revive us: in the third day he will raise us up ...
Psalm 90:4 ...For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past
2 Peter 3:8 ... one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day
Revelation 20:6 ...reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
God sees things on a different scale than we do. We can see that 1000 years are like one day for Him and the 1000-year reign can be taken as the Sabbath of the Earth.
The restoration of Israel is regarded to be an explicit sign for the end-time series of events. It is a need since Antichrist, who will reign in Jerusalem, will sit in the Temple, in which prior to this the Old Testament sacrificial rites take place. Considering all of these, great attention should be given to the reborn of the state of Israel in 1948. Jerusalem and the West Bank got under the jurisdiction of Israel in 1967. After David had occupied Jerusalem, he was not permitted to build the Temple, it was a promise just for the subsequent generation. If we assume that this will happen the same way, the following question we face: from which point of time we shall count the approximate 70 years, since if we regard Psalms 90:10 as a basis, we can state that one generation, a lifetime takes about 70 years. So shall we make a calculation from the date of the establishment of Israel or that of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem as follows: 1948 + 70 = 2018; 1967 + 70 = 2037? The construction of the Temple in Jerusalem (we deal with the topic in the next section) can start even the next decade but it might occur only in the 2030s, since after Jerusalem’s getting to Israeli hands a lifetime will have passed by 2037 on grounds of our previous calculation.
And if we assume that the Church started at Pentecost after Jesus’s death and resurrection, it would seem to be logical that the period of Church would finish by the Rapture of the Church. Following this train of thoughts, the Rapture is expected to take place around 2030.
Jesus said that we were not allowed to know the exact day and hour (Matthew 25:13) but he also said that we could judge and predict from different signs how close His coming – in his glory – is (Matthew 25:31). We can also take as a promise that the more we get closer to the end of the world history, the more ‘vision’ God makes us possible.
Rather than looking for a particular year for the beginning of the 7-year period, believers ought to be aware of specific signs that Jesus told the disciples that would be present as birth pangs prior to the Tribulation period. Matthew 24:4-8 relates these birth pangs signs as false teachers within Christianity, ethnic warfare, famines in various places, and earthquakes (also Mark 13:5-8). The Luke 21:8-11 speaks of false teachers within Christianity, ethnic warfare, and famines, while adding plagues, great earthquakes, terrors, and great signs from heaven. The way we get closer to the end-times, deception will grow even within the Church with a larger extent. (see sections Antichrist and Prophetic service)
The number of great earthquakes has progressively increased in the 20th century. Over the past 100 years they took several hundred thousand tolls. The number of earthquakes when buildings were destructed has been 17 only since 1990. Such types of earthquakes occur every year. In the future, even more is predicted.
Despite the fact that there is overproduction in food-staff in certain parts of the world - owing to dramatic growth in population experienced in the last 30 years - in the absence of agricultural land elsewhere, no sufficient quantity of food can be produced and unfortunately not even bought. In developing countries some 1.2 thousand million people live on $ 1 a day or less. 780 million out of them starve every day. More than 5 million children die because of malnutrition. It is well known that there is drought and due to this there is famine in many African countries.
Although medicine is more developed than ever, recent and old diseases, epidemics mean also real threats to the human race. 20 well-known diseases - including tuberculosis, malaria and cholera – has broken out again and started spreading since 1973, often in such a strong version that they do not even respond to drugs for remedies. At least 30 previously unknown diseases, communicable viruses have been identified, including HIV (AIDS), Ebola, hepatitis C, and Nipah viruses, the cure of which are known. In 1999, 160 times more people died of infectious diseases than of any other type of natural disease.
Great signs from heaven are unknown, but they may be things like the collision of a comet with Jupiter in 1994, or the Hale-Bopp comet in 1997. (‘How close are we to the end-times 7-year period?’ by Roy A. Reinhold)
In the 20th century, three times as many people have fallen victim to wars as from the first century up to 1899. Between 1900 and 1989 more than 90 million people became victims of war. The Second World War has taken the most death tolls so far.
The water and air pollutions as well as the endless exploitation of the Earth inflict a growing burden and pain on nature and man, that is, the whole visible world. Not only speak believers about that nature is in pain, in labour and struggles, but also politicians and scientists of different world-views.
Century / War victims: 17th century / 3.3 million; 18th century / 5.0 million; 19th century / 5.5 million, 1900-45 / 40.5 million, 1945-75 / 50.7 million

We also have to speak about the fact that Christians will be persecuted indicating that the last times have come. Let's look at what Jesus said about it: ”... they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” (Matthew 24:9-10). In Luke 21:12 we can read this: ”... they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.” ( ...) Verse 16: ”And ye shall be betrayed both by parents and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake”. John 16:2: ”They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.”
In fact, Revelation 6:9 describes the opening of the 5th seal: ”…I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held:”.
Since Jesus Christ fulfilled his mission on the Earth, many examples of persecution of Christians could be classified. I’d rather mention just a few of them in the wake of the ‘Fox's Book of Martyrs’ by William Byron Forbush: 11 Apostles out of the 12 were martyred (see in detail in section Prophetic service), as well as the Evangelists (except for John, who was forced to exile after having been tortured). The early period of Christianity coincided with the existence of the Roman Empire, when 10 Emperors, including Nero, Domitian, Trajan, Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, Severus, Maximus, Decius, Valerius, Aurelius, Diocletian's reign when Christians were constantly persecuted, tortured and killed. (e.g. Barnabas and Timothy as well) Even in the Persian Empire, at the time of the Inquisition, in Germany and in the Netherlands, in Scotland, in England and in Ireland Christians were persecuted. We could also mention the Quakers or perhaps the Protestant persecutions in the south of France.
As if we live in the period of the 5th seal read in the book of Revelation (Part 6 :1-11). Is it possible that the first 5 seals independently of the subsequent 6th and 7th make a separate unit in which the set of events of the last hour started with the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ appears ahead in a more and more condensed occurrence? And might we stand before the breaking of the 6th seal? What is certain that this will be of great importance for the Church.
But let’s go back to the last 7-year period. One major sign of the start of the 7-year period is the construction of the Temple itself, which has to take place in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount. It must be built either before the start of the 7 years or must be under construction during the 7-year period, since by the middle of the 7-year cycle it will have had to be in operation for some time. Do not search for a specific date but let’s keep track of the building of the Church and watch the peace treaty needed, as these will be the main signs of the coming of the 7-year period!
